I graduated from the Department of Sociology at National Chengchi University with a double major in journalism. During my time there, I was a campus reporter and ran departmental activities.

The exploration of theories, social phenomena, social structures, and marginalised populations on the sociology programme heightened my awareness of seemingly insignificant details in everyday life. It also equipped me with the ability to analyse situations from different perspectives.

Communication studies courses provided me with a better understanding of the impact of media on various aspects of society. Through the process of producing news and capturing photographs, I realised the power of visuals. I look forward to using this power in the creation of extensive visual works to convey social phenomena I observe.

I believe that postgraduate instruction in photographic culture will enable me to extend my understanding of the dialectical relationship between images and society, and learn how to critically examine the influence of images from various perspectives.
